VisiLean – Print & PDF Export Service Demo Testing Guide
Purpose of This Guide
This guide explains how to access and test the Print & PDF Export Service provided by Greatstone for VisiLean. The objective is to enable hands-on functional validation ahead of final production deployment.
Important: This is a temporary demo/UAT environment. The production service will be deployed behind VisiLean’s gateway and will fully rely on VisiLean’s authentication and authorisation mechanisms.
Accessing the Service
Demo / UAT Access Link
https://www.greatstonesoftware.co.uk/visilean-pdf-export-service
Open the link above in your browser.
Click Launch Service to open the Print & PDF Export application.
You may share this link internally or with selected end users for review.
Access requires a valid v-Authorization token (see below).
Authentication & Token Handling (Important)
Token Behaviour
- The service requires a valid v-Authorization token
- Tokens are valid for 30 minutes
- Once a token expires, a new token must be generated using the VisiLean Postman collection
Setting the Token in the UI
- Once the service is launched, locate the Set link in the top-right corner of the page
- Click Set
- A window titled “Set v-Authorization Token” will appear
- Paste your token into the input field
- Confirm/save the token
- Continue using the service
If the token expires during testing, repeat the above steps with a newly generated token.
Generating a Token (Postman)
- Use the VisiLean Postman collection already shared internally
- Generate a new token using the appropriate authentication request
- Copy the token value
- Paste it into the Set v-Authorization Token window in the UI
Backend Service Endpoint (for reference)
The demo service itself is hosted at:
https://pd-ce950c41855c44cfb0b025273ab0c3a1.ecs.us-west-2.on.aws/
This endpoint is provided for transparency and troubleshooting only.
End users should normally access the service via the Greatstone launch page.
How to Test the PDF Export Functionality
Once the service is launched and a valid token is set:
- Select a Project
- Select Date Range
- Dates/times are rendered using the project timezone
- Choose Export Mode
- Daily or Weekly (as applicable)
- Toggle Live Mode if required
- Preview
- Validate layout, sequencing, and data mapping
- Export PDF
- Generate and download the PDF
- Open in a browser or PDF viewer for best results
What to Validate During Testing
Please focus feedback on:
- Correct project and date data
- Task sequencing and grouping
- Headers, footers, and layout
- Colour logic (live vs non-live modes)
- Pagination and readability
- Alignment with agreed designs and expected behaviour
- Visilean tracking sheet adherence
Minor visual refinements may still be in progress during this demo phase.
Known Characteristics of the Demo Environment
- Tokens expire after 30 minutes
- Tokens must be manually regenerated via Postman
- Authentication is temporary and separate from VisiLean production
- Data may be test or representative
- Performance may differ from the final production deployment
Troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue:
- Confirm whether your token has expired
- Generate a new token in Postman
- Click Set (top-right) and paste the new token
- Retry the action
If issues persist, please capture:
- What you were attempting to do
- Project name
- Date/time of the issue
- Any error messages shown
